Book of the Week - 'It's Never Too Late to Say...' by my QVC buddy Julia Roberts! Plus - audible top listens.
1 June 2016

Another beeeeyoootiful cover from Angela Oltmann and another winner from our Jules!

Julia's third novel in the Liberty Sands series is just out on Amazon and already garnering five star reviews -

Holly Wilson seems finally to have it all: a beautiful baby daughter, a son about to embark on an exciting career, a glamorous new job in television, and an adoring boyfriend in bestselling novelist, Philippe. But something isn’t quite right…

' My favourite of the trilogy, the familiar characters have become friends and I found myself really caring about what happens to them. New faces add a little spice and intrigue and the author keeps you guessing with some clever and unexpected twists. I finished the first two books desperately wanting to know what happens next, and rather frustrated at having to wait for the next book. This one left me happy and satisfied, a book that is easy but rewarding to read and perfect for a summer holiday. If you haven't read the first two books take them all for a special treat!' - amazon review

'I love this book so much, but was sad to finish it, please Julia promise to write again, I will never hesitate to buy a book that has your name on it, you are an amazing story teller.
I am now going back to read the 3 books again slowly and enjoy them to the full.
To everyone out there, who loves a real honest and heart warming read, do buy this Liberty sands trilogy,' Amazon review

Am so proud of Julia and what she is achieving - I just wish the books were on audible! One day? I have a long list of things to read, but am aiming to read some of my many friends' and author pals' books when I get the chance - maybe when I go on hol again in the summer. Till then, do read the 'look inside' and maybe begin with book 1, although you can read them out of order, apparently. Contact Julia @juliarobertsqvc.

JULIA ROBERTS - q&a

One of the first two QVC presenters seen on screen back in October 1993, Julia combines her TV appearances with voice-over work, writing a book, keeping fit and watching her team Crystal Palace play. Her TV career kicked off in 1979 with parts in Citizen Smith and Dr. Who, and she eventually became a familiar face on TV after appearing in a number of commercials. Julia started presenting at the 1989 Motorshow in London, and soon had her own magazine-style programme on cable television, covering current affairs, entertainment and sport. She’s also formed her own production company, and has written two novels.

1. Did you always dream of being a writer?

I have long harboured a desire to write a novel, ever since I won 2nd prize in a regional story writing competition at the age of ten. I started several novels but it wasn't until I came up with the idea for the Liberty Sands  trilogy, three years ago,  that I actually sat down and started writing seriously.

2. Where and when do you write?

Good question. I have a very hectic schedule at QVC and find I don't really have time to be creative on days when I am on air - I don't mind editing though. Fortunately, I have a five day break every fortnight and these are my 'writing' days. As to where I write... anywhere really, but preferably a room with a view.

3. Your new book is called It's Never Too Late To Say..., what is it about?

It's Never Too Late To Say... is the final book in the Liberty Sands trilogy and concludes travel blogger, Holly Wilson's story while introducing her estranged mother, Carol, who we have heard about in books one and two. For the first time, readers will hear about the catastrophic event in her early life that led her to become alcohol dependant.

4. Now that the trilogy is complete are you planning on writing more books?

Absolutely. I'm sixty next week (w/c June 6th) so I don't know how many more years I will be able to appear on QVC. My dream is to retire to a house with a sea view and write as many books in as many different genres as possible.

5. Have you started writing your next book?

Not yet. I have four quite different ideas that I am developing at the moment. One is a humorous Christmas novella so perhaps I should start with that, although I quite like the idea of working on two different manuscripts at the same time.

Looking forward to more from my talented author and presenter friend!
