Busy week again! This week I read a fabulous article about self-publishing by author @LizHarris, who attended an inspiring talk at London Book Fair with two huge movers and shakers in the world of self-pub – million dollar sellers, basically – and her blog summarises what they said. How amazing is their story? Inspirational – with a lot of useful tips. Go here to read it if you like the idea of writing your own book and self-publishing it. And let me know how you get on, maybe leave me a comment below on this blog?

SELF PUBLISHING TIPS - one of the most frequent questions I'm asked is for exactly those sorts of tips on how to self publish a novel. Well I had an interesting TiFFT* this week - my first ever official guest blog. It is for marketing superstar Joanna Penn, herself a talented author - her titles are here - and is called '7 Tips to Help Promote your First Ever Self-Published Book'. But in her intro, she has some clear advice for first-time authors. Click here to read it.

Plus Jane Friedman ex of Writing Magazine, has a brilliant site which will help you take your first steps, for instance click here. Next week, I’ll put even more links to help with self-pub first steps!

MY PAPERBACK IS UP ON AMAZON!

Well, as promised, my paperback of Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter is now out too! The eBook rose quite high in the UK charts last weekend. Apologies if you tried to read about it over Easter weekend but couldn’t - the blog server was down for a few days. More info about what happened with my latest novel is on my latest Friday QVC Blog. Do let me know what you think! Several reviews already – very pleasing. Do go here to get the book on Amazon if you’d like to read the behind the scenes antics and insider secrets in a fictionalised account of one young trainee journalist’s attempts to become a ‘selly-telly star!’

Next week if you like raunchy regency novels, I’ve got a cracker for you!

OTHER NEWS -

-          Brilliant book trailer – the Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. Omg – is this the most brilliant book trailer or what! I went straight off to get the audio book! Have been looking for something like ‘Reviver’ by Seth Shannon for ages. Can’t wait to listen to it – just hope it’s as good as the trailer! Click here for more.

-          Target the German Market now –an interesting blog about why it’s vital if you’re a self-publisher to look outside of English speaking markets. Joanna Penn is currently having some of her books translated to exploit the international growth in eBooks now that US and UK are plateauing. Interesting times. Click here for more from selfpublishingAdvice.org , and click here for a how-to from Matthias Matting.

-          All about the Audio – as you may know if you know me well or have been reading for a little while – I absolutely love audible.co.uk! This week Jo also puts her co-producing hat on to venture into a little joint deal with audio book production resources to get her unabridged short story up online alongside the other ways to read her book! I love it, so I may be biased! Click here for more.

That’s it till next week – another bumper round of links for would be self-publishers – always glad to point people in the right direction – I certainly had a bit of help in the early days when I had no idea and it’s nice to pay it forward! See below for my list of books now available.

Have a lovely week!

Best wishes
